You know the advancements where it’s heading, what’s next, what’s new, I garantee that you will sit accross and know more than your interviewer. It’s all about reading :)

I really like these two pieces of work. Very inspiring! For me i think it defines the perfect marriage between the beauty of the female figure and the beauty of vector graphics. I need to figure out how to do this :)

The Real Reality

I wanted to share something profound that happened to me on Friday after the Friday prayers. It kinda stuck with me.

After moving my car I was headed toward the nearest cash machine after praying Jummah at Leeds Grand Mosque. I met a brother named Smail there, a handsome Algerian man in his late thirties. A regular at the mosque, most people know him. I approached him to wait in line he looked at me, his eyes lit up I gave him Salaams we did our buddy hand shake and embraced each other.  I then asked how he was doing and he replied “Ah u know alhumdulilah… a bit up and down” i said to him i knew what he meant. “This reality is tough man that’s why i really enjoy praying at Leeds Grand Mosque it’s such a unique place with unique individuals… very special!” i said. He agreed with me.  I then said “I’s like an escape from reality, i love going there!” He turned to me and said “No… that IS the real reality!” I paused for a moment, digesting what he had just said it felt so profound to me and i was surprised that i hadn’t thought of it like that before.

Two miniutes our conversation took and what he said had such an impact on me I’m still thinking about it days after.

The Best Thing Ever

Wendy, Lisa & Tina

Just bought Wendy & Lisa’s latest album after previewing most of their tracks on their site and was pleasantly surprised. I overheard them being played on Imran’s macbook and immediatley asked him who they were . Former Prince vocalists from the 80′s and 90′s i was completely blown away by this album subtle tones and soft melodies. I was told it was a departure from their old records and after listening to a few of their old ones which i thought were very ‘Prince Like’ but still very enjoyable in my opinion.

The tracks i like so far are Balloon, Invisible, You and I, and Sweet Suite (Beginning at the End).

I just have to mention the lyrics to the beginning of ‘You and I‘

Sun kills the moon,
the moon starts to cry
the rivers fight the oceans
the oceans rage at night
and you and I
running out of time…

Wendy & Lisa remind me of someone I’ve heard before and after listening to the album throughout the morning and afternoon I suddenly realised who and called up Tina Dico’s album ‘In The Red‘ another record that needs a review. It has very subtle tones and really soft comfotable music that you could just curl up to, possibly with a cup of a hot chooclate in hand on a cold winters day. A must listen if you like this type of music. I’d recommend Long Coodbye and Nobody’s Home from Tina’s ‘In The Red’ ablum

Aramco Calender (2009)

I love the Aramco Operational Calenders been collecting them ever since i went to boarding school. I think the reason why i like them so much is beacuase they have both hijra and gregorian dates on them. Here’s a download if you like to share in my hijrah gregorian goodness :)

I saw this ad on the university lab pc’s screen saver. I thought it was hilarious i laughed out loud. A testement for my love of apple and the upteen degrees i failed to complete over the years. Don’t worry i’m in my final year now… will i graduate? You betcha! (wink)
