Someone asked me (don’t know why people ask me these things but they do) Mohsin why has Allah done this to our people why?

I told him "my friend you’re looking for answers in the wrong places, these things happen, but it’s what we learn from this that is a key, will we learn from this yes was it a painful lesson yes but the positive benifits that come out of this are tremendous it may not look like that now but in time it will.

Are thoughts and prayers are with them all

Life the Universe and everything

Well what can i say… it’s been a long time again. Life has
been very good, God has been too good to me. Most of the things that I have and
that happen to me I don’t really deserve. After a long time things are looking
up, I wonder if they stay that way.

Anyhoo I’m back in England.
Yeah I know it’s a crummy place weather wise but I’m sorta getting use to it.
Me going home for those 2 months was brilliant. I don’t think I could’ve ever
asked for more than what I got those months. I experienced a lot of pain and a
lot sadness but so much happiness and so much joy to at the same time. It was
sorta of the high’s and lows of a mini life all wrapped into a couple of
months. I got a bit love sick as well but I got through that well, better than
I thought. Allah has taught me so much and is always there for me I couldn’t
ask for more just been to good to me.

Been keeping fit while i was there keeps your mind of things when your keep
busy. My Tennis game got really good I think the best I’ve ever had it at. I
gave some lessons as well to two sweet kids they’re angels, I swear. The
innocence and just spending time with them and listening to them reminded me
how I was when I was that age and how even now you try to capture what they
have. I could listen to them for hours, although one of my students didn’t talk
too much. But if there’s one thing I can take away from spending two months
back would be the last 3 days I spent with those kids, it’s something you never
forget. Very few moments in your life that you cherish, near death experience,
wedding day stuff like that, for me this was one of them, and I thank Allah for
that every day for letting me see the simple things that sometimes most people
over look.

I miss the little guys… Well works work and I’ve gotta a few more months before I go back then come back again and university kicks off. Oh my Dad came over we had a great time and had a good chat and ate out at some really cool places. Saw my Grandfather too he’s back in the uk he looked really happy when I saw him. Everything else is great, need to get back in shape though with work things kidna just get left out. My time spent at home was the best ever the people are just so humble and good it’s like there’s no evil I just feel so safe, such beautiful people,  and I’m looking forward to the next few months at work too, times just gonna fly by.

Back at Work

Back at work again…

Lots of people in the house now the whole team in fact. It really feels lively than before it was just the four of us. Got all my gear down and it feels great to have my stuff with me. Still trying to fit in but I think it’s a bit difficult. Only found a couple of people who I can really connect with. Everyone else is well really, well lets just say we don’t have that much in common. Still a lot of swearing and really bad jokes too.

Went earlier this morning to drop a person I met only the day before. Her father passes away and I kept the boss company on his way back. I think that was very hard to deal with. She’s brave though. But losing your father is a very tough ordeal. I really don’t know how to behave in situations like that, it’s very awkward. I guess you just have to be yourself.

May Allah Give Him Jannah InshAllah.

Work

Posted: December 24th, 2004 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: | View Comments

Ok it’s been I while I know… apologies for that… I’ve been so busy, and I mean really busy, and I haven’t connected my computer to the net yet at work (boss got mad and pulled out all the patch port cables that connect all the cables throughout the office.) hehe

I’m going home today finally (and today is half day yipee)… so I thought I’d wirte a bit before I go back

Alright so how did my itinerary go…Well not quite to plan actually as I thought, I guess the worst thing was I went to Sheffield only did a third of what needed to be done.

But the London thing is great… well it’s Slough actually… and I’m still here. There was a mix up on how long I was gonna stay I thought I was gonna go home on Monday but they wanted me to stay until Thrusday and do a few projects… I was given a choice and they didn’t really matter either way… so I decided to stay and I’m glad I did. Although I only had what I was wearing and all my clothes are pretty dirty by now (I only brought enough for the weekend you see). Should’ve gone out and bought some more but never had the time.

So who am I working for? Kayani Systems it’s only 2 years old and I’m working pretty much in every role but mainly as a developer (guy who does most of the coding, website management and coding. server building etc)… HOW COOL IS THAT!!! You’re probably thinking how sad is that… but yup it gives me something to do and good experience too!

I went to Sheffield to sort out a few things that didn’t happen because the accommodation office was closed. I met up with my good friend Laiq in Sheffield and we went down to Nottingham together (that’s where he lives) and it’s his brother who runs this company and well that’s how I got In really.

I mean they’re a 2 year old company. And when they went around trying to get a loan from the banks to start up I think. A lot of the banks said no they wouldn’t give them any money. Because they said that at the end of a year they’d make 250,000 turnover. Well they snubbed the banks on that one they instead made a turnover of something like 360,000 in their first year. And get this they made in their 2nd year a turnover of 1.5 million! Whoa I thought!

A few mornings ago I was really kicking myself in the head this morning for not waking up for fajr. It really ticks me off when I can’t do that and when you do it so many times the days before. The devil gets you sometimes and he gets you good! It really pisses me off… I just ask Allah for forgiveness and move on, also getting to bed earlier would help too :)

The working environment is well pretty rude. I guess they’re all like that lot of swearing and sexual innuendos and jokes like "Big Tits Sophie" and "How’s the python Johnny". It’s like being back at school. But I guess it’s all fun and games. Though a bit too much swearing for my liking. I remember when I use to swear a lot my every other word was f this and f that but thank God it was just a phase. But now that you know people do it around you your mind thinks that it’s ok when it isn’t. Alhumdulliah I have the restraint from God and I have the power not to take the easy route but I guess that’s just the way I am.

So the learning curve here is steep! I’ve learned so much. At the moment I’ve got loads of tasks to do. One being to get OPK install working. That’s a toughie. But it’s going alright. OPK install is like when you by a brand new pc and when you get is you turn it on and it installs is self. I’m trying to get the factory mode done. So when you build pcs you don’t have to install xp on them every time like they’re doing at the moment. So it’s interesting but tough but interesting. I like a good challenge and meeting new people so it’s all good. I know my brother is glad I’m outta the house and outta his way. Don’t know what he’s doing at the moment. I should phone him….

Anyhoo

I’m having a great time

I miss all my friends and family who are home now and probably having a great time. I wish I was home. But this is the way things go I guess. I’m in Slough now and it’s really getting cold! 0 and -1 degrees. But things are looking up now and now I’ve got this job and it’s great fun and I’m learning loads of stuff.

I’m trying to get the internet sorted so I can update my blog more often now. And I haven’t been online in ages sorry about that. I keep telling people I’m online all the time and now when I’m offline people are gonna think… huh?

I’m spending most of my time in this room at the moment. It’s a really nice room probably the best in the building in my opinion…

Oh my GOD I just got OPK to work! I feel really great… you know when you get something to work and you’ve been trying so hard and it finally works I feel really happy! Sorry I just put this in I’m kind writing this as I go a long through installations and restarts when I’ve got sometimes. I was doing it while the boss was in here too that I don’t think I should be doing but once I get internet then everything should be alright.

Hey I’ve been so busy you can’t believe it! Everything’s going well alhumdulliah and I’m really very happy. I haven’t had any internet access for a while now and I’ve been getting withdrawal symptoms :)

I’ll post something proper when I get the time, but just to keep you up to speed I’ve been in Slough since I left Harrogate last Thursday… So I was supposed to go back but they thought I was gonna stay for the week a bit of miscommunication but I thought hell with it let me stay for a week and see what things are like with this company… I can’t begin to tell you the stuff I’ve been learning it’s really great it’s given me a great opportunity to do the things I always wanted to do but never knew quite how.

Anyways I’ll post something later when I get the time :)

Should be going home on Friday so that’ll be nice but I need to bring all my stuff down cos I’ve been wearing the only thing I had and it’s well it’s getting really dirty

I finally got Ush’s birthday present. I say that I ordered it ages ago and if finally came yesterday. He’s chuffed Vector Lovers are really good though he says it’s different to the one on my cousin Imran bhai’s computer, we think they tweaked the levels or something. Oh and we finally got GTA San Andreas, that’s a kick ass game! I haven’t played it properly though but usman seems to be having a lot of fun, it looks good too I think the Rockstar people have out done themselves again.

Let There Be Light

Posted: December 8th, 2004 | Author: admin | Filed under: Uncategorized | Tags: | View Comments

We’d been sitting in the dark for so long and didn’t even realise. Ok I know I’m still a student kinda… and we’re not the best at keeping things in check, but we found a stash of light bulbs in a drawer and started replacing the fused ones,  I didn’t think we could have this much light!

I started opening all the drawers and I found 3 bottles of atar and tasbee from mecca/medina and a cool silver plaque with the shahada on it. Oh and I found my bluetooth headset and a cool eraser… I’m gonna open all the drawers and see what else i can find :)

Catch Up

Sorry I’ve been all over the shop lately. I’m back in  Bradford again I know…

Let me get you up to speed. I had a great weekend with my Mamu Zafar again they’re great people we had a good time. Went to White Rose mall in Leeds which was nice hadn’t been there before. I started my mum’s side of the family tree. I’ve got up to my great grandfather but hoping my grandma can get me a bit more info when I see her this weekend (for the khatam/anniversary of my Nanajan/grandfather’s death). I’ve left it in my Mamu (uncle’s) hands to sort out a regular cricket indoor sport thingy we came up with. Hope they get back to me on a venue or something whenever they find out. It’d be great to hold one and get all the family together, we were just saying on the weekend that there are enough of us to have a cricket team :)

My Auntie (mamu’s wife) is so sweet. She’s one of the kindness people I know. She gave us loads of food when I left this time. You can see the noor shine off her face. You’d understand when you’d meet her. It’s people like that you know you’d wish there were more of in the world. I found out when I left the first time she missed me (cos I kidna left abruptly) I thought that was so sweet. May God bless her and keep her safe and happy always and her family :)

I finally saw The Incredibles it was really really good! Very funny. I wouldn’t say as funny and clever as Finding Nemo but definitely a good turn in the right direction. I’d have to say my favorite was Jack Jack he really did it for me… very cute.

Jackjack_3

Was watching Clear and Present Danger starring Harrison Ford just now on my Khala’s/Aunt’s huge plasma tv and surround sound. It’s such a good film. I’d have to say it’s one of my favorite if not the favorite. I love the bit when the bomb falls out of the sky, the way they did that was great! This movie truly stands the test of time in my opinion.

Catching a Train

Blast! Did I actually say that when I was running up the hill to catch the train on Eid morning. I couldn’t believe I said that, I’ve been reading a lot of novels recently, mainly Star Wars ones and well I think that comment was a result of that… Blast! Oh Blast!

Yoga

YogawomanIt’s official… I’ve started something which I never
thought I would, Yoga. I thought it was such a feminine thing and that well I
always thought it seemed very girly. Boy was I mistaken. I found one of my
mom’s books lying around and it’s really something. I just did a few moved to
strengthen my back and legs for a couple of days and I couldn’t believe the results.
It was as if I’d been jogging for a month my back was so strong that I could
sit up right instead of slouching which I hadn’t been able to do since I jogged
regularly a few years ago. I also became so flexible I can put my leg over my
head when I’m all loosened up. Just sitting there doing a few moves for half an
hour to an hour you wouldn’t believe how much you sweat and how much concentration
you need for things which seem so simple. It’s really quite something. I would
urge anyone to try at least once you will be amazed.
